Snake Pancake Anyone?
This baby snake was on the pavement in front of our house today. I have no idea what sort of snake it was, but judging by the size it was very young and had never heard of cars.

Awww yes, they love to lie on warm rocks. Pavement has the same heat retaining quality, so I guess they get fooled by it, as do worms, who slide onto pavement during rains and then get dried to death when the sun comes out.
A dried coyote would have been a LOT larger
